I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend! Our family sure did! We had some much needed down time, and we got to really enjoy quality time with the kiddos and each other. There’s nothing better than quality time with family!
I wanted to just write down a few of my thoughts today, for myself to look back on and remember what was going on at this time in our lives, and also to share my feelings with all of our amazing followers who have been so supportive and loving to our family!
First let me say how grateful I am for the health and strength of our children. Sometimes we’re just rolling along enjoying the ride and I forget what a blessing and miracle it is to have these wonderful rays of sunshine in our lives. We are completely humbled by how well they have done these first few years with their health, and we give all credit to our Father in Heaven who has opened heaven’s doors and poured blessings upon our shoulders. We are eternally grateful for what he has given us.
On that note, I must acknowledge the fact that we have such a loving and gracious Heavenly Father. He had a plan for Ashley and I all along, and he knew what was in store for us. I sometimes get sick to my stomach wondering what life would look like if I would have gotten my way with everything I wanted along the journey. So many lessons needed to be learned, and experiences that both of us needed to have. Our Father in Heaven knew those trials and experiences would bless our lives and the lives of others. How grateful I am that things didn’t work out the way we wanted or planned. We needed to struggle and exercise our faith in him. Our faith was rewarded. Our Father in Heaven has many promises for us all, and I am grateful for the knowledge of that.
Following that thought, I am grateful for my faith. My faith in my Father in Heaven and in our savior Jesus Christ is what has allowed Ashley and I to overcome every single obstacle that we have encountered in our lives. We have fought through them together, leaning on each other, and on our faith. Throughout those trials, we witnessed many miracles, one of those being our precious children. We also realized how strong our faith had become and how it had grown leaps and bounds! We needed that. We had no idea what was in store for us, but our Father in Heaven did, and he made sure we were ready to handle what he was entrusting us with. How humbling that thought alone is.
I am grateful for my savior Jesus Christ. Looking back at all the struggles, trials, pain, and doubts we have felt over our lives, I’ve come to the realization that I never had to experience those alone. Jesus Christ has experienced them all. He has paid the ultimate price for each and every one of us. He knows every feeling and thought we have better than we can comprehend. He gave his life so that we could have eternal life. As we believe in him, and follow his example, we become more aligned with this knowledge and better able to understand all that was given. I’m eternally grateful for his example in my life of complete and unconditional love for the world.
One of my greatest blessings I’ve been given in this life has been the companionship of my sweet wife Ashley. She has been without a doubt the greatest blessing in my life. She has been a constant support to me and an example of that unconditional love I’ve eluded to. She has inspired me to be a better person. She has shown me what love means, and how to communicate it. She has been a comfort to me in times of trial, and always a happy face to come home to at the end of the day. She has mad my life better that I can ever have imagined, and she has done it all by simply loving me for me. How grateful I am that we share the same beliefs and ideals and we get to strive for our goals together. There is no other person I would want to call the Mother of my children, and I’m blessed that I don’t have to.
On this day, I have so many things to be grateful for, but these are the few I will write about today. I love you all, and am grateful for your influence in my life as well. Thank you for being you. Thank you for loving and supporting my family, and showing me the good that is in the world.
