The Girls First Horseback Riding Lesson

Yesterday was probably one of the best days we’ve had in a while! The girls took their first horseback riding lesson from Eagle Mountain Equestrian and the smiles never ended! They seriously looked like naturals up there on their horses! We were a little nervous in the beginning, but the staff, horses, and the girls were all on the same page and everything was a dream!

We started off by meeting the horses, and petting them. The girls loved how soft and gentle they were! They were excited from the second we got there!

Next up, we needed to get our helmets on! Safety first!

Indie was so cute. She kept scrunching her nose. She got the smallest horse, I think that was fitting!

Everybody saddled up, and ready for a lesson! The girls were so excited to start the fun!

They got to learn how to control the horse, turn them, stop them. They also learned the basics about how to care for and act around a horse. They were so interested when the instructors were talking.  They got to trot and that made them all giggle. They got to do a race, and also played some games with the horses putting balls in a bin. So much fun!

Evie was so sweet on her horse. She kept petting his neck like he was a little puppy. I think they had a good bond going on!

Although we didn’t want the day to end, the girls were really great about taking the horses back to their stables! They even got to lead them in!

Afterwards we got to brush them down and feed them a treat! The girls loved the horsey tickling their hands!
