Today’s blog is all about focusing on the good in the world and what we can do to be a part of it. Particularly the good in our own world. There is so much that Ashley and I have to be grateful for, and today I wanted to share a few of those things. I hope I can inspire you to think about your own lives and see all the good that radiates and has been given to you from our wonderful Father in Heaven!
One could argue this entire life is about the relationships we make with others and how they affect all of our lives. Relationships can bring such joy and comfort. They can be filled with trust, love and loyalty. The relationships we have can inspire us to do better, try harder, or pick ourselves back up after a hard trial. We can have them with family, friends, spouses, co-workers, neighbors, and loved ones. Relationships take hard work, but when cultivated can bring forth plentiful fruit. They can give us learning experiences and help us grow and empathize with others. They teach us compassion, forgiveness and charity. Relationships are present every day, and affect our lives greatly. I am grateful for all of the relationships I’ve made in my lifetime, not only the good, but the difficult ones as well. Each has taught me something not only about others, but myself.
God has blessed us all individually with talents and abilities. We are all unique and gifted in different ways. We all have something wonderful and positive to offer the world. I like to encourage people to find their talents, enhance them, and share them. We are all in need of friends, love, compassion, energy, family, health, education, etc. How wonderful it is to be able to learn from each other; lean on each other and help each other with what we have so abundantly blessed with. Our talents and abilities should be wasted but sharpened and used frequently!
How we react to any given situation or event is a choice. We have the power to act or react. What we do matters. What we say matters. It not only matters in our lives, but the lives of those around us, and inevitably the world. We make an impact. We can choose to make an impact for good or for bad. We can choose to love or hate. We can be a friend or an enemy. We can choose to forgive or stay bitter. The point is, our attitude is completely controlled by us. Life can throw curve balls, but I’m going down swinging, I can tell you that! Believe there is good in the world. Be the good.
