I love writing these blogs more than anything! It allows me to dive deep into the personalities of the ones I love the most! Thank you to all of your for enjoying them so much and requesting them! It really motivates me to continue writing, and I know our entire family will appreciate and enjoy these for years to come!
Today we get to explore all things Esme!
Esme is the family entertainer by far! Her personality is so contagious and draws you in every time! She has a way with people and it seems she’s always giving them exactly what they need or want to see! She has always been a comedian, from the very beginning! We even started documenting her faces with the hashtag #esmefaces! Definitely check that one out on Instagram! She loves to entertain and be the center of attention, something she comes by honestly from both her mother and father!
Esme is such a giving child. She is always willing to share and give what she has to her sisters. She loves interacting with them as well, especially Indie. You can really see the bond they share just by watching them play together. They really do have their own language, and its so special to watch. Where Scarlett and Evie have more of a competitive relationship, Indie and Esme is definitely the opposite! They will sit and talk and play for hours without a squabble. I think this dates back to the womb with all they had to go through, especially the TTTS surgery. We’ve had two of doctors argue their reasoning for which baby was the giver and the taker during the TTTS debacle, and it will continue to be argued as both of their personalities are so giving. I cant imagine either one of them taking all the nutrients and not sharing!
Esme, although smaller than Scarlett and Evie can hold her own ground. I would even argue she would come out on top in a quarrel, even though her sisters are bigger and stronger. She knows what to do to defend herself, and unfortunately that has included biting. Evie has learned the hard way that attempting to take toys or books from Esme comes with a price. Although she knows how to defend herself, she is not confrontational at all. She is very mellow and easy going as long as her environment stays that way.
Esme is very smart! Besides Indie, she definitely says the most words! She is still working on sentences, but she knows so many words you’d think she was talking sentences. She has a great memory. You can be talking about something with her, and 20 minutes later in a completely different environment, she’ll bring it up again. Im amazed at how fast she picks up things and retains them. Children really are sponges and soak up everything we give them, good or bad! This is a daily reminder for me to be on my best behavior all the time!
Esme loves puzzles! One of her favorite things is finding where the puzzle pieces go, or putting her shapes in her shape bucket! This is often a morning activity we do to get the day started and Esme could do it for hours!
Esme loves family! She knows and loves every single family member that comes over. The other 3 kind of have their favorites that come to visit, but not Esme. She loves everyone and will socialize with all of them in no particular order! She is definitely a people person and a socialite. She gets this from her Daddy!
Esme loves to sing, and can actually carry a pitch. She knows the words and tune to so many songs! Its so fun to watch her at this beginning stage sing her little heart out! Im so happy we’ve recorded these moments to watch with her later in life!
Esme is a daredevil! She loves jumping from things and exploring new territory. Where the other girls hesitate to explore something or someone new, Esme will just walk right in! She has no fear! She must get this from her Uncle Drake! Whenever I watch her fearlessness, she reminds me so much of him!
Esme is so sweet! She loves to give hugs and kisses, as long as you don’t restrict her or hold her too long. She cant sit still in one place for more than a minute. Something she also gets from her Father. She is definitely a free spirit and is constantly doing things that keep Ashley and I guessing!
The naughty factor- She does bite and pull hair to defend herself, but occasionally, she’ll just take a bite for the heck of it.
The nice factor- She’s usually apologies and hugs after biting before we even get after her. Now if we can only get her to just stop the biting all together! LOL.
One of Esme’s favorite places to go is Grandmas front yard! She loves being outside, but loves the freedom of being able to roam the yard with little restriction! One of her new favorite things has been spring cleanup! She loves helping by picking up leaves and branches!
Esme has become our most finicky eater. Foods she definitely enjoys are fruit, cereal, and soup. Outside of those staples, its a 50/50 risk she’ll like anything else we offer her.
Esme is definitely a Daddy’s girl. I love it when I enter the room and she shouts my name for the next 30 seconds. It melts my heart. If she wakes in the middle of the night, she usually wants my snuggles as well. I have to say, I never thought that would be the case. I always thought they would always want their mother and I would have to settle for an occasional hug or snuggle. I’ve been blessed!
Esme, like Evie, loves to help out around the house. She was the first to master washing her own tray after eating. Her and Evie both mastered vacuuming the carpets. She also loves to help Dad in the office packaging orders, or just pretending to do computer work!
Esmes loves coloring and especially drawing. One of her favorite things to draw is a pumpkin, and I have to take credit for that as well!
Esme is a very obedient child. She will most always listen to what we say and respond well! She loves to help out her mom and dad, and does very well with direction!
Esme is very kind and loving. She usually doesn’t have a problem sharing food, toys or books. She interacts very well with all of her sisters, and her extended family. She loves nursery, and plays well with other children too! She is so energetic, and rarely gets tired. She is also one of the least grumpy of the quads. She’s rarely in a bad mood. Even when she’s sick, I feel like she’s the most mellow. She just kind of keeps to herself until the storm passes. She is a very gifted daughter, and we are lucky to call her our own!
