Having our lives in the public eye these past few years has definitely been an experience for us, to say the least. We’ve learned so much about ourselves and about the world around us. We’ve grown and learned who we can trust and depend on. We’ve seen love and support from all over the world, and been able to reciprocate and share that love. In short, todays vlog is just a glimpse into our simple beliefs. Whether you’re new to our pages, or been following since the beginning, I think you’ll all get a better idea of who we are from reading this blog!
1. Our Faith
Our Faith is everything to us. We would be nowhere without it. We are members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. We have a very strong belief system of who we are, where we came from, and where we are going. Our faith has taught us that our Heavenly Father has a plan for each and every one of us, and that through our obedience to his plan, we can have eternal life with those we love. For me, there’s really nothing more important than the though of being with my family forever. We are also taught that through our trials in life, we will learn and grow, and be able to know the good from the bad, appreciating what we have been so very blessed with. Through the atonement of our Savior Jesus Christ, we can all have the ability follow his example and be saved for time and all eternity. Knowing that our family can be together forever is the greatest joy and knowledge that we have been given. This is what inspires us daily in our words and actions. 2. Our Family
As previously stated, family is everything to Ashley and I. We both come from large families. Ashley is the youngest of 5 children; two boys and 3 girls. I am the oldest of 10 children; 8 boys and 2 girls. We both have a deep understanding of the sanctity of family. We have both been taught the importance of the family as well as the joys and happiness that family brings into our lives. We are both very close with all of our siblings and live within a 30 mile radius of all them except one, (my sister married a Canadian and resides in Alberta with her family). We get together often to visit and support each other. We go to plays and sporting events for each others children. We celebrate graduations, weddings, and births together, enjoying the new moments that life blesses us with, while reminiscing the old. Every time we are together with family, we’re laughing and smiling, enjoying each others company. Ashley and I have both been very blessed to come from such wonderful families that support and love each other. We know they will always be here for us and our family, and we will do the same for them. Our girls have been blessed to not only know unconditional love from their parents, but also from extended family who are so very present in their lives. As they grow older, we hope to teach them of this same kind of love that our Heavenly Father, and savior Jesus Christ have for each and every one of us. For us, the family unit is the most fundamental unit in society.
3. Our Responsibility
We feel that God has given us so much in this life, it is our responsibility to share with the world how truly great our Father in Heaven is. The blessing of being parents is not a role we take lightly. We struggled for 8 years trying to have a family, and now that we have our blessings, we don’t take them for granted. Each moment spent with them is true blessing from heaven and a constant reminder of why we are here. Our Father in Heaven has blessed our lives beyond measure in this life, but it does not stop here. We believe it continues on, even after death. That is a message that we openly share with the world. The blessings we cherish most, family members, friendships and knowledge we don’t leave behind. We take everything with us as we are obedient to the laws of our Father in Heaven. Ashley and I have been given many platforms to share our message. We feel honored to be able to share our lives with each and every one of you. Sharing not only our trials, but also our successes and showing how they are directly related has been an overwhelmingly joyous experience for both of us. Our Father in Heaven has blessed our lives beyond measure, and there is truly no way to repay him; but we can do our best by sharing the knowledge that we have gained, the blessing that we have been given, and the joy that we have experienced from following his teachings.
4. Our Children
There is nothing more important to Ashley and I than our children. We waited a very long time for them to join us here in this life, and we will never take them for granted. Everything that we do, we do for them. We have been blessed to be able to run our businesses from home, allowing us both to be here raising them together, step by step. We’ve both been here for the milestones, the hardships, and the joy! Seeing life through your children’s eyes gives us as parents a new perspective. What was once forgotten, is found again. The joy of seeing the world through a pure heart reminds us all that there is much good in the world, and that through our thoughts and choices we can continue seeing that good, and also being that good. We want for our children what every parent wants for their child; success, health, and happiness. As each stage in life passes, we enjoy what was experienced and we get excited for the next chapter. I think one thing Ashley and I have both realized is how important the time spent with our children is, not only for them, but for us as parents too! We are so very grateful that our girls chose us to be their parents, and that our Father in Heaven has trusted us to raise them in truth and light. Talk about responsibility! LOL. Truly we have been blessed.
5. Our Strength
I think after reading the first 4 on the list, you know where we get our strength. I think also seeing where our strength comes from, you know that its impossible for that strength to be broken. Everything we have been given in this life has been a direct gift from our Father in Heaven and our Savior Jesus Christ. That knowledge has continually grown from day to day building upon its foundation. The more we experience in this life, the more evident the truth becomes. As we give gratitude, we are blessed. As we share our testimony of Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ, we are blessed. As we show love to our children, our families and our friends, we are blessed. As we honestly seek out our guidance and help from our Father in Heaven and rely on our Savior Jesus Christ, we are blessed with the strength we need to overcome any trial on any day. Our strength comes from our children, our parents, our siblings, our friends, and most definitely our Heavenly Father and our savior Jesus Christ. As long as we put our faith in them, we will not fail.
I want to thank each and every one of you, our followers, our friends, our family. Truly you are part of this strength I speak of. Thank you for loving our family and blessing our lives. We truly love and appreciate each one of you!
