Christmas Angels

2 years ago today God sent us a sign, he sent us Angels to let us know he was there for us and he heard our pleas. These Angels didn’t come in white robes or with wings. They came in the night and changed us forever.

Two years ago today there was a knock on our door and no one on the other side. Just an envelope on the doorstep. Tyson looked around and didn’t see anyone, picked up the envelope and what he found inside changed our hearts forever.

He came up the stairs with tears in his eyes and we opened it together…. A note that read….

  And a bundle of cash.

At this time in my life I had never felt so defeated and alone as I had this particular day. The holidays were here in full force and our house was quiet and empty. No goal in site of ever being able to do IVF or adoption. I felt like my prayers were bouncing off the ceiling and no one was on the receiving end. I prayed that God would send me a sign to let me know I wasn’t alone and it felt like the sign was never coming. I felt angry that my life wasn’t turning out how I had planned and I was lost.

This knock on the door turned my heart back to God. He was listening to my prayers the whole time. He knew what I needed and he sent Angels here on earth to give me this message. I’m so thankful for whoever these kind people are and that they listened to their heart that night and came to rescue us in a way they never knew they did. This act of kindness was far more than some cash to help us get to our goal of IVF. This act of kindness played a part in restoring my faith in answered prayers.

That night I posted this on Facebook and I’m so glad I did so I could be reminded of it today…

I remember us just crying and looking at each other trying to figure out who would have done something so selfless. I was just so thankful that we were a little bit closer to our goal.

I wanted to scream from the rooftops that there are angels among us! We are all someone’s angel if we just listen to our heart. Sometimes that burning deep inside you to do an act of kindness isn’t nothing. It’s something giving you the opportunity to be an angel, a light for someone else.

Angels come from everywhere and we can be someone’s angel by just listening to those promptings. Even if it’s just holding the door open for someone, a smile, a simple compliment to a stranger in passing or donating money to those in need this holiday season. Whatever it may be that you have to offer DO IT! Don’t let those little moments pass you by, don’t give up the opportunity to change someone forever.

We never did find out who left that envelope on our doorstep but whoever you are THANK YOU! Not only did you change our hearts you helped give us our greatest blessing ever….

This Christmas season we have been able to pay it forward in little ways here and there and hope that we have been an angel for someone in need.

Be an angel to someone today! Merry Christmas!
