July is my favorite time of year, even over Christmas! July has always been so special to me for so many reasons. I mean who doesn’t love the summer time, fireworks, BBQ’s, swimming, vacations, the Red, White and Blue and so much more? Im sure it being my ‘birthday month’ has something to do with it also.
Aside from all of that so many amazing things have happened in the month of July for me over the years. First off, 15 years ago today I met Tyson. We met at a neighborhood 4th of July party and spent the whole night just talking and getting to know each other. He hung out at my house till 2am just looking at my old yearbooks. I remember thinking to myself “When is this kid gonna leave? Im so tired!” Little did I know that was the start of something amazing! July 4th 2001 fireworks were flying in the air and between us.
Fast Forward to July 20th 2005 (my birthday) where Tyson took me up to the amphitheater and proposed to me. This was an amazing day although we had most all of our wedding already planned as we were getting married on August 12th, this was the day he officially proposed on one knee (we were waiting for the ring to be done being made and it took longer than expected). This is the same place we got married, and then we went back to open the envelope to find out if we were pregnant and then we would do the gender reveal for our families here too. This place is special to us.
Many more great July’s would pass with family and friends making memories that will last through eternity. Watching fireworks from inside and outside the Stadium Of Fire depending on how broke we were that year. Every one is special to me.
July of 2014 would change our lives forever. On the 3rd was our blood draw to see if our IVF had worked and we would finally get to be parents. I remember that day being so frighting before opening the envelope. Our hands were trembling not knowing what we would do if it wasn’t the answer we were waiting for. I should have known that July was our lucky month always and it would continue to be. We flipped the card over to get that ‘POSITIVE’ answer and it would end up changing our lives more than we could have expected.
July 20th 2014 (my birthday) Tyson took me up to a hotel in SLC where I would lay in the hotel bed the entire weekend because I had never been so sick in my life (morning sickness). I could hardly move as the room constantly was spinning. Just 3 more days and we would be able to go in and find out how many babies we had.
July 23rd 2014 was the morning of our ultrasound to see just how many little angels we had coming to us. I remember praying so hard that morning for at least twins knowing this was our last shot at having kinds (I don’t have any eggs left). Morning sickness and nausea were in full force this morning and I quickly forgot all about it when they told us the shocking news…QUADRUPLETS! I felt every emotion possible in one instant that I thought I was going to explode. This was such a fun day driving to all our families to tell them the big news.
Last year was a crazy July. We were running on close to no sleep and in the middle of figuring our 4 brand new babies. I remember this being the only year I was in bed by 9pm and cursing the fireworks keeping me up. I had never been so tired in all my life. Loni (our incredible photographer) made sure we would get some photos that we would cherish forever. She knows this is my favorite holiday and I am so grateful for these pictures of the girls from last year to see how much a year can do.

Now July will always be perfect now that I have my girls here happy and healthy. I cannot wait to make this holiday as magical for them as it always has been for me. I want them to look forward to it and remember these memories forever!
I am so grateful for this beautiful country that we have to live in and raise our children in. We are the Home Of The Free, Because Of The Brave. I am so grateful for all the men and women who have fought and who continue to fight for our freedoms. I love the Red, White and Blue and this country I call home.
We all need to remember these words…
“Freedom is never more than one generation away from extinction. We didn’t pass it to our children in the bloodstream. It must be fought for, protected, and handed on for them to do the same.”
