December is here, and I couldn’t be happier! This is one of my all time favorite months, and always has been! I love the festive season, decorations everywhere, the smell of a fresh cut pine, family and friends gathered together, and of course the sound of Bing Crosby everywhere I go! Couldn’t get any better than that! We put so much out there about the girls, I thought I’d start letting you all in a little bit into who Ashley and I really are! Hopefully you’ll enjoy these next few blogs! This one is all about the music! I’d love to hear your favorites as well, and here are the ones I can’t live without during the Christmas season!
- Wham!-Last Christmas
This song has been a staple in my Christmas season as long as I can remember. I have to thank my mother for blessing me a music appreciation of all that is good and beautiful!
2. Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)
I love Darlene Love’s voice so much, and the way she sings this song speaks to my heart. I love her emotion, and I love this song!
3. White Christmas-The Drifters
Anyone from my generation knows this song from the movie Home Alone, while Kevin is getting ready in the mirror. Staple from my childhood!
4.Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow!-Dean Martin
Dean Martin in my opinion is one of the most gifted singers I’ve ever heard. His voice just soothes my soul and he always made it seem so effortless. This song just paints a beautiful picture, doesn’t it?
5. Ill Be Home For Christmas-Bing Crosby
I don’t know if there is anyone out there who hasn’t heard this song, and not loved it. Bing’s voice is so distinct and pure, it just wouldn’t be right to have Christmas without this song on your playlist!
6. The Christmas Song-Nat King Cole
Another Classic. Can you tell that I appreciate the classics. This kind of music just reminds me of a simpler time. There’s something magical about music that never dies, no matter how many decades pass by.
7. Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas- Judy Garland
It probably helps that I had a major crush on Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz when I was young, but on the other hand, how can anyone argue with a voice as beautiful as hers. Definitely the best version of this song in my opinion.
8. Silent Night-Brad Paisley
A song that embodies the season and the meaning of Christmas. I love his version of this song. It’s reverent, yet moving.
9. Sleigh Ride-The Ronettes
This is my shopping song. If you see me in the mall and this song playing, just get out of the way! There’s shopping to do!
10. Christmas Cannon-Trans-Siberian Orchestra
Beautiful Melodies and Voices together. Very peaceful. Probably doesn’t hurt that The Canon in D was played at our wedding either.
Of course my playlist is a mile long as I love music, but these are just a few of my favorites, and give you a small glimpse into what I love and my personality a bit. Hope you enjoyed! Enjoy the Season!
