This week I want to continue the profile updates on all the girls! I hope you all got a chance to read Ashley’s update I put up last week! Today im going to start with Evie Bear!
All of our children have so many unique attributes, its so fun to actually sit down and write them down to look back on in the future! These are honestly some of my favorite blogs to write because I get to sit down and focus on one girl at a time, showcasing all of who they are! As fast as they grow, each update always brings more character to the story and paints an even more vivid picture of who these little miracle are!
Evangeline is our baby, by mere seconds, but you wouldn’t know think that if you were around the girls for any given set of time. She is very headstrong and determined, and always knows what she wants. Sometimes we have to stop her and discuss good and bad behavior, but overall im amazed at her character qualities and know she will have a bright future as she continues going after what she wants and letting nothing get in her way! It’s a little comical right now as its usually one of the other girls getting in the way, but her competitive nature and determination to get what she has in her mind will take her a long way in this life.
As physically dominat as she is compared to the other girls, Evie is our most emotional girl as well. She does get her feeling hurt when something doesn’t go as she has planned. This is something we work on every day with her, to try and teach her that she can’t “always” have the toy or book she wants in that moment, but that doesn’t mean she never will. Teaching a 2 year this lesson has been extremely difficult, as many of you already know. I hope that as we continue teaching, she will understand that sometimes you have to wait a little while for what you want now! On the flip side, Evie being emotional can have huge payoffs for mom and dad! Out of all of our girls, she loves to snuggle and be held! As a matter of fact, I think over the last 6-8 months, she’s been the only one who has let us snuggle her long enough that she’s actually fallen asleep in one of our arms! A parent never gets tired of that moment!
Evie has this deep and sometimes raspy voice! She can be so loud and heard over any of the other kids. Its so funny to listen to her trying to talk and take her seriously because of how cute this is. She takes after her father who can be heard through several layers of walls throughout the house! Another nod to her dominant character. Evie is also the loudest while crying. When she starts to cry, she wants to make sure the neighbors know she’s upset!
Evie loves her cousin Jett! To say she’s obessed, might be an understatement! She is so sweet with him!
Evie loves blankets. This is no surprise as she loves to snuggle. Sometimes when she wakes up, she just wants to be held with her blanky and snuggle for 10-20 minutes. Her favorite blankets are her Minky blankets, which she has several of, but the one that Minky actually named after her is her all time favorite!
Evie loves her uncles! She is always the first to run to them, and usually the last to say goodbye!
I would also say as much as she loves her mommy, she is still pretty much a daddy’s girl! Ash may disagree, but id be willing to put it to a test! LOL!
Evie loves to read books and is always fascinated with the pictures and the stories that are told. After one book is finished, she’ll just turn it back to the front of the book and say “again”.
Evie is getting really good at putting sentences together. All of the girls know so many words now, but Evie has been the first to consistently say sentences. Her favorite is to say ” I want_______”.
Evie loves to walk along the sidewalks and paths like on a balance beam. She will stay on cement parts with on the playground, and do very well! Gymnastics may be in her future!
Evie is very smart. She is aware of her surroundings, even at this young age. When we turn off the main road into Grandma’s neighborhood, she knows immediately and is always the first to spout off “Grandmas!” She also knows the Donut shop, the “gucky” (sucker) store, the brothers work place, and the park!
I’d say one of Evies defining physical features are her big beautiful lips!
Evie loves to be outside! She loves the park, going down big slides, and pushing her little car around the neighborhood. Her favorite though is pulling the wagon, with or without her sisters in it. Im amazed at how physically strong she is. Out of all the girls, she’s the only one who can pull the wagon solely with all her sisters in it. She definitely has brute strength!
Evie is a pretty good eater. She loves most foods, none about fruit! Bananas, oranges, and apples are some of her favorites! She’s just started gaining more interest in vegetables. She loves carrots, especially when cooked, corn, broccoli, and squash. She wont try peppers, although ive been trying for a while now. She loves all types of beans, eggs, cheese and yogurt. As far as meat goes, chicken and ham are her favorite. She doesn’t really like hamburger or red meat so far.
We haven’t really tested out a lot of drinks for the girls yet, as milk and water are the staples. They have had orange and apple juice with mixed reviews. They do love smoothies though, all of them. Ashley will occasionally get a smoothie for herself, but most of it ends up with the girls.
Evie and Scarlett have a more competitive relationship. They will play together a lot of the time, but they will also be fighting over toys, books, food, and whatever else a lot of the time as well. Evie usually comes out on top during these battles, but I have many theories as to why besides her brute strength.
Evie is a great helper! She loves to help out mom and dad around the house with chores!
Evie loves brushing her teeth, taking baths, and coming her hair, which makes all of these easy on mom and dad! She loves working on her shape puzzles, and singing. We love listening to her little raspy voice sing! She knows at least 10 songs, and it seems mom is teaching a new one almost weekly now!
Evie is also very artistic and loves to color and paint! She’s very creative!
The naughty factor- The one thing we constantly work on with Evie is stealing toys. Once again, if she sees something she wants, she just takes it. I figure this one is going to take us a little longer to master from what I see today.
The sweet factor- Evie is really playful with all of her sisters. She loves to wrestle, hug and chase her sisters around while laughing. She genuinely interacts with all 3 of her sisters on a daily basis. I love this so much about her!
This girl has got an arm! I wouldn’t be surprised if she takes after her daddy and plays all sports!
Evie and Scarlett were the first to start opening doors. Luckily they equally like to close them, so if one is open and you give them the chore of closing it, they think its something fun.
Its so hard to put everything about one person into one blog, and so that is why I love doing these every few months! They grow so fast its hard to keep up with everything special about them. If I’ve forgotten something, hopefully it makes it into the next one! I hope you’ve enjoyed this little blog all about our Evie! The other 3 will be coming this week! Just in case you missed Ashley’s blog earlier this week, ill post below!
