I’m not shy about sharing my testimony of a loving Father in Heaven. He created all that we have and all that we ever will have. He has made it possible for us to experience life on this earth, and to return to him and share eternal glory, not only by ourselves, but with our loved ones as well. He has given us free agency to choose, right or wrong. He has given us a Savior of the world, Jesus Christ, that through him, our sins may be washed clean, and we can learn from our experiences to better help ourselves and others. I love my Heavenly Father. I love him more than any word could express.
Today I just wanted to share a couple thoughts. I know life is hard. Darn it, its hard! We all didn’t come to this life with everything we need or want. We all face challenges, and some days they just seem like too much to carry. That’s just a fact. We all have our challenges. They may not be the same, but we share that they are challenges. Through life’s experiences, I’ve learned that very rarely, I’ve overcome a challenge alone. To be honest, I don’t recall any challenge I overcame alone. Not one. This is the message I want share today.
My challenges not only allowed me to experience and learn, but they also opened a door for others to step in and offer help. Countless times I can recall being in need, and every time someone was there. I think I’ve made more friends from my own struggles than I have by any other method.
There’s something special about seizing an opportunity to help someone in need. I think we learn from serving others. I think it allows us to see things from a different perspective. It allows us to gain empathy for something we may not have understood before. It also allows us sometimes to know we are not alone in our struggles. We may find we share many struggles with others. The service we give not only helps that someone, but in turn, blesses our lives as well.
I want you all to know I have a testimony of service. Giving freely of your time and effort can lead to something wonderful. It can open doors and build friendships. You can mend homes and hearts. Helping someone in need opens your eyes to a viewpoint you may not be aware of. I am thankful to all those who have reached out their hands over the years to lift me up. In them doing so, I hope I’ve been able to make a difference in lives being where I am today. Without their help and guidance, there is a good possibility I may not have been in a position to help anyone out.
I love you all, and want to remind you again how grateful I am for your love and support. Ashley and I are very humbled by the blessings the good Lord above has poured out upon us. Our hearts are gracious, and our minds acknowledging. Although we are not perfect, and never will be in this life, we appreciate your words of comfort, love and support as we do our best to raise these miracles that God has sent down to be in our care. May God bless us all as we do our best to serve him, and make this world a better place.
